What is a SLIMD, and how is adoption measured?
A SLIMD (SLonana Improvement and Modification Document) is the SLON analogue of Solana's SIMD. The intended mechanism is that validators signal adoption by activating a proposal's feature gate, and a SLIMD activates once a supermajority of stake has adopted it. That stake vote is not implemented yet: today a feature activates at the next epoch boundary once whoever holds its feature key submits it, and no stake is counted.
That mechanism is not live yet. What the chain does hold is each gate's own feature account. A SLIMD that names feature ids takes its status from those accounts, read by address on every refresh: not activated, pending (on at the next epoch boundary), or active since a slot. A SLIMD without an id shows its published roadmap state.
What IS read live: the validator roll call and the summary counts, from getVoteAccounts and getClusterNodes. featureSet appears there as one fingerprint per node — useful for spotting a node on a different binary, useless for measuring support for any single proposal.
